About the role

SunCulture Kenya Limited is looking for an ambitious Head of Marketing who will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth in line with our business objectives. This position requires extensive experience in leading brand and communications initiatives, trade marketing activities and engagement of customers through diverse digital channels. The success of this position will be pegged on conducting market research to understand customer needs, trends, and the competitive landscape; as well as monitoring and analyzing marketing performance, using data to identify areas for improvement and optimize campaigns. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong bias towards planning and execution of trade marketing initiatives so as to oversee leads generation activities, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring that relevant campaigns are delivered in a timely and cost effective manner. You will  collaborate with all functions but closely work with Product Development and Sales and Customer Support teams on a day-to-day basis. Previous experience in Renewable Energy is desired.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Develop the annual marketing strategy and ensure it is in line with SunCulture's business objectives.

  • Develop & monitor KPIs for benchmarking of marketing activities, evaluating of marketing budget and reporting/ adjusting of marketing activities performance.

  • Collaborate with relevant functions internally including Product, Sales, Marketing and Customer Support teams to ensure successful product adoption, seamless customer experiences, and revenue generation. 


Brand & Communication

  • Work closely with the Global Lead for Brand & Communications, to develop and implement strategies that enhance SunCulture’s brand awareness and reputation while driving consistent messaging across all channels

  • Oversee the creation and production of marketing content such as videos, blog posts, presentations, and sales enablement materials including sales training and product demos 


Trade Marketing

  • Lead execution of sales activities across all sales channels in line with the brand plan

  • Design and implement programs that increase sales momentum i.e. productivity of sales agents and promotional activities

  • Increase brand visibility at our Sales & Service Centres

  • Ensure all sales support materials are created and distributed in a timely manner and within budget

  • Represent the General Manager in key Sales & Marketing forums: ensuring the Business Development & Sales teams are aware of upcoming plans and activities

Digital Marketing

  • Create plans and select appropriate channels to generate leads from social media engagement 

  • Review and approve digital content and calendar to drive all marketing digital campaigns

Product Marketing

  • Work closely with the Product Development team to conduct market research, analyze data, and develop product positioning propositions that effectively communicate desired value propositions 

  • Guide the Sales Team in developing launch plans and execution of go-to-market strategies for new products 

  • Manage creation & distribution of merchandising materials to support the onboarding of new Sales teammates 

  • Effectively coordinate the execution of all sales activities while ensuring that marketing pre-requisites are availed/ issued in a timely manner


Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Marketing or or Business related field

  • 8+ years of work experience preferably in Marketing; with minimum 3 years leading Trade Marketing activities in a Retail environment (FMCG) or Renewable Energy 

  • A proven track record of leading Trade Marketing activities and driving Customer Acquisition initiatives

  • Strategic thinker with an eye on innovation and a strong business acumen - driving out-of-the-box marketing strategies that involve unconventional approaches to reach target audiences 

  • Strong experience in managing internal and external relationships with Experiential Partners, Media Agencies, Government officials

  • Ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and make data-driven decisions. 

  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills

  • Ability to simplify complex marketing concepts into digestible content

  • Able to work in a dynamic environment with immense pressure

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to plan, be organized and meet deadlines

  • Proactive, collaborative, organized, curious, problem solver with a “can-do” attitude
