About SunCulture:

Founded in 2012, SunCulture’s Vision is to build a world where people take control of their environment in rewarding and sustainable ways. SunCulture does this by developing and commercializing life changing technology that solves the biggest daily challenges for the world's 570 million smallholder farming households. We are the largest distributor of solar water pumps / solar irrigation for smallholder farmers in Africa and were selected by Fast Company as one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies. Here is a good explainer video made by CNBC. Over the last 5 years the company has grown significantly and now employs 400+ people around the world.

About the Role

Bring climate tech to the timeline. Help farmers become icons. Inspire the worldSunCulture is on a mission to make solar-powered irrigation accessible and affordable for smallholder farmers across Africa. But we’re not just building products—we’re building a movement.

What You’ll Do:

We are looking for a digitally fluent, culturally tuned-in social media consultant to lead creative, high-impact campaigns that do three things:

  • Spotlight our customers (and their kids), making them global icons and inspiring a new generation of climate innovators.

  • Excite global audiences, including influential funders, policy makers, and media in high-income countries.

  • Drive brand value.

This is a creative, strategic, and mission-critical role that bridges local storytelling and global relevance. You will help SunCulture become one of the most visible and trusted climate tech companies in the world—while staying grounded in the everyday brilliance of African farmers. Think social stunts, smart influencer strategy, and content that feels as real as it is powerful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of viral social campaigns across platforms (TikTok, IG, YouTube Shorts, X, WhatsApp, LinkedIn).

  • Develop creative strategies that connect with both Gen-Z audiences in Kenya and Africa, and global stakeholders in climate, agriculture, and investment.

  • Collaborate with local and international influencers and creators to co-create content with strong emotional and cultural hooks.

  • Craft short-form, story-driven content that makes SunCulture’s impact both visible and shareable—from farm life to climate action.

  • Spot and ride cultural trends, adapting them to SunCulture’s voice, values, and mission.

  • Take the lead on editing content for impact—this includes using advanced video editing tools, special effects, licensed music, and motion graphics where needed.

  • Ensure all content meets platform best practices and copyright requirements—including handling music rights, footage permissions, and quality control.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to align storytelling with brand strategy, product launches, and strategic communications goals.

  • Work closely with SunCulture’s internal teams to sync messaging with product launches, brand strategy, and strategic announcements.

You Might Be a Great Fit If:

  • You’re a digitally native communicator, deeply immersed in Gen-Z culture.

  • You’ve run or contributed to a campaign, page, or brand that grew fast and got people talking.

  • You understand how to create content that resonates deeply in Kenya and across Africa, and strategically with global audiences.

  • You’re energized by fast-moving creative projects and love turning good ideas into real-world results.

  • Bonus points if you’ve worked with creators, built a social brand from scratch, or experimented with new formats to spark engagement.

Why This Role Matters:

  • You’ll be at the center of a movement that’s reshaping the future of food, climate, and livelihoods.

  • You’ll help tell powerful human stories that don’t often get heard.

  • You’ll get a real-world opportunity to show what you can do on a global stage.

  • Your work will directly drive awareness, trust, and connection between SunCulture and the people we serve.

The Basics:

  • Full-time role with flexible hours

  • Remote work, with potential for travel to Kenya or other countries we operate in for on-the-ground collaboration
